Wonsoon Park is originally from Seoul, Korea. He graduated from the Seoul National University with a bachelorís degree in Horticultural Science. His first job was as a book editor, but after being inspired by the many interesting books on plants and gardens at the 2002 New York International Book Fair, he decided to return to horticulture. In 2006, Wonsoon moved to the Jeju Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the world, in order to work at the Yeomiji Botanical Garden. He visited many domestic and international gardens including the 2007 International Flower Expo in Japan, and the 2009 Chelsea Flower Show in London, while working as a research & education division leader in Yeomiji.
In May 2011, he finished a one-year internship program at Longwood Gardens, which gave him many opportunities for learning more about horticulture and getting to know great people. As a Longwood Graduate Fellow, Wonsoon is interested in developing special gardens and educational programs to contribute to the popularity of gardening in Korea. He loves aquatic plants, photography, and playing acoustic guitar.
